Summary: Provides support to the purchasing department by helping with vendor purchase orders, branch transfers, Eclipse reporting, vendor maintenance, and other general purchasing activities.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Included are the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Creating vendor purchases
  • Assisting with PO approvals
  • Maintaining and updating vendor pricing
  • Expediting open POs for the company
  • Creating new vendor accounts
  • Entering stock transfers
  • Creating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets
  • Other administrative activities as needed
  • Reporting for work on a regular and timely basis

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:  This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Education and/or Experience: One year certificate from college or technical school and six months related experience and/or training in distribution and six months related experience and/or training in sales; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

  • Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.   Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of organization.

 

  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.  Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

 

  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

  • Computer Skills:  To perform this job successfully, an individual should have or should develop knowledge of Eclipse software.  Ability to work on personal computers using software applications such as Word, Excel, and Google Mail. Ability to search and find product detail on vendor websites.

 

  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Prefer current Driver's License
